My Thoughts on Love Does Grow On Trees

My thoughts on this short film varied throughout the short film due to the story changing throughout. At the beginning of the short film you see this young boy playing football as you would expect that age boy to do, I liked this scene because it shows a long shot of the boy and the goal and then gets in for a close up to his emotions when he firstly sees the picture. You see the eyes truly grasp the image and in that second you see the addiction kick. You realise this because most people at that age would focus on the game and the excitement but this boy is at the stages were he is open his eyes and understand the concept of hormones and testosterone without him even knowing. This addiction seems to grow throughout because he finds the tree with all the images and magazine planted on the tree and he tries as hard as he can to get all of the images while he has the chance. Up to this part in the story I like that it shows what most teen boy goes through as he grows up and it shows it in a very Unique manor which makes it easy for people to relate to, this means they are capturing the audience. As the story progresses I truly began to understand the nature and context of this story, it is saying that what you think you love which is In front of you might not be the thing which is truly what you love. This is clear in the story because he is fixated on the porn pictures and magazines that he is blind to the person sitting right next to him that loves him. That's truly what love is, your blind until you see that the feelings have always been there all along, until you admit to your self you are in love and paper magazines won't help you.
