Christmas Adverts 2014

At Christmas many companies and shops have various adverts for an emotional attempt but also for marketing. This is shown in some of the various Christmas adverts we saw. You know that it is for marketing when the various shops start to sell products much like John Lewis and the penguin who are now stocking penguins small and big, because they are limited stock they are going for around £300 on eBay.

John Lewis Christmas Ad

I liked this advert because it showed an emotional message in a very cute and child effective way. This was effective because you were able to see a cute relationship between the penguin and the young boy and you see that the penguin longs for love and in the end you see it happen, but then they show you that it was really a toy and then kids get drawn I wanting one.
I didn't like the advert because I felt that although it was a cute advert you felt that they were really in it for the money and the merchandise rather than their products and a meaning of Christmas.


Sainsbury's Christmas Advert

I liked this advert because It incorporated a historical content and I felt that was really effective and in a way emotional due to the fact that you know the ending. It was all happy but then reality hits and the true horror comes into play. 
The only factor I didn't like was that it wasn't focused for everyone it was really only focused on the Middle aged and elderly because many younger people would not grasp it and I didn't like that exactly.

Boot's Christmas Advert 

I liked this advert because at first I was unable to grasp the concept and story but then as it went on I truly understood it and saw the beauty of the story being shown. I liked the way they incorporated the product with the message of giving at Christmas and the importance of family and circumstances.
They only thing I didn't like was that I first I didn't understand it, but other than that I saw no faults.


My favourite Christmas Advert out of these 3 was the Boot's advert because I felt that it showed the message of family and Christmas but at the same time showed the product and the company making it a very clever advert. The
