TV Series - proposal
I think for my idea I would like it to be around the paranormal and how things are around you that can't be seen until they find the answer to the link between ghost and humans.
Genre : thriller, supernatural
Themes: reality, suspense, tension, determination
It would be set in a new neighbourhood which still has one old and abandoned house. It was just about to be pulled down until a family of a husband, wife and one 4 year old child buy the property as it is the amount they want to pay with great positioning. No one wanted to help them build the house due to the stories about what had happened in that house, the family soon find this information in an old book that was left in the house.
Nothing weird had happened until an old clock in the basement was opened. Soon everything was happening in the house from banging to pushing and shoving. They didn't want help they wanted to be able to deal with this themselves and soon an old pair of glasses is found in one of the old wings of the house. When the father realises that as soon as the glasses were found the happening seemed to be more specific and centred around the glasses, the father took them to a antique shop to see what they were. After research they were the late owners of the Manes House. When he got back he went to the bathroom he looked in the mirror splashed water on his face as he does this he looks up and in the mirror he sees himself but it isn't his reflection as in the mirror his hand was pointing to the glasses and saying put it on. He blinks and it goes scared he goes to bed and puts the glasses downstairs and goes upstairs to bed. When he wakes up the glasses are next to his bed, after a lot of these happenings he goes to the bathroom and looks in he mirror and slowly places them on, the lights go of, he goes to the switch turns it on nothing works he turns, to be faced with the dead starring dead into his soul.
This would carry in for a serious to uncover the mystery of the house and the exsistance of the glasses and helping the dead. Leading on to discover all and what will happen...

i want to make this idea because i feel you are to connect with the series/episode as it is open to the young teen and also the older ones and even young adults. i thought this story worked well as it has a strange yet enthralling storyline with weird twists and moments. i really enjoy paranormal things myself and i felt i wanted something that represents me and what i find interesting and gripping as i am a teen. I feel paranormal programmes are good as they give both non believers and believers the chance to really sit back and think oh wow does this truly happen or could this be happening etc.
The main things that influenced my idea was a basis on Ghost Whisperer and the way she is able to communicate with them and help much like i wanted part of series to be part of, also Pretty Little Liars because of the suspense and grip it gives you i wanted something mixed between these two. I also wanted to add the Ghost Hunters side of it of the history, interest and really suspicion throughout the programme to grip a much wider audience.
Other productions include the 3 i have already mentioned and also a bit of most haunted and a various short clips i have watched to understand the idea about the paranormal and how many are touched by experiences or have life changing events due to certain things that have happened.
All of the programmes i have mentioned have been very successful as Ghost whisperer went on for 9 seasons i think, Pretty little liars are about to bring out season 6, most haunted was about 10 seasons and ghost hunters around 6. I find all of this programmes clutching and quite amazing thats why i wanted to do the parnomal/supernatural side of things.
it is for older teens from the ages of around 15/16 to the 19/20 mark. i want it to be around these ages as most of these kids/young adults would still be at school or college so the easier the spread of hearing about the certain programme and making it easier for the message and meaning to be put across.
i think what makes it special is the fact that i have a pure passion for this genre and that i hav watched various things that have been able to influence me in a way that i can come up with a series/idea to be able to carry on over a period of time with new things that have rarely been seen on camera which i find so enthralling.
