This story really hit me and affected me in a way that was surprising. The way in which the rides carried on after a safety check and the ride actually stopping. The worst thing about this incident was the fact that the whole thing could have been prevented.
If there were issues to do with the ride you would think they would shut it down and then get people in to check it but in this circumstance they just continued like nothing was wrong. This caused people's lives to change in extreme ways, a 17 year old losing her left leg. The bottom paragraph angerer me the most that they "have made contact with the family", like they had to but they rather had not had to deal with this, like in actual fact they didn't really care but in the press they had to look good so the park wouldn't get an even worse reputation than it does now.
Joe's description really emphasised to me how people have really lost their true humanity "girl filming herself and they others on the ride". This whole incident was life threatening and instead of talking to the others to stick together and
re-asure others, she thinks oh this could be a good snapchat story or whatever it was. This truly sickens me to think what people have lost from the ride and how someone feels they can film it.
Miss Washington's whole life has been changed from this single event that im guessing was just a fun day out with some friends that turned into anyones worst nightmare. Imagining what she is going through and thinking what if i had stayed at home, what if we never went on that ride. That whole perception is life you never know what is going to happen and anything can at any moment and this truly reflects that.
Overall this story touched me but also angered me due to the way that it had been described and foretold. The way they had so many different events along the way "20 minute delays" and stopped for a safety check wouldn't have alerted the park to stop and just triple check it but instead they changed the future of many and really didn't have much to say about it other than, we are sorry we are working with the family. To me this seems played on rather than truly caring about the family's of injured.
