TV shooting survivor: 'I felt helpless'
Sep. 15, 2015 - 5:26 - 'On the Record' Exclusive: Vicki Gardner and husband Tim Gardner on the frightening moments on the shooting, how she wished she could have helped cameraman Adam Ward and reporter Alison Parker, and Vicki's recovery.
From watching this interview in a way i felt a lot of anger, not due to the whole event that happened but to the way that the event was being told. They have the interview of Vicki Gardner (the survivor) and her husband, they go into a lot of detail around her survival and how she got through it but hardly mention the fact that two loved and innocent people are now dead because of the events that unfolded. I know in their situation you would feel relief for still being alive but they never really seem sad they are jolly and in parts make jokes about their marriage while the husband and wife of both the reporter and cameraman are sitting at home longing for this to be their reality but instead it is their nightmare. The smiling from the reporter and the interviewees is beyond me, the occasion is around how she could have helped but instead she is talking about the doctors being nice and having a nice clean house to come home too, this truly angered me.

Overall i felt that Fox News is seriously a joke, not in the fact they are funny but in the fact they can have a smile on their faces and not really seem to make into consideration the people that had been murdered and the people that have lost their loved ones. This truly made me feel sick to my stomach and really didn't give much comfort to the audience or to the family or both Adam Ward and Allison Parker.

Watching this video itself does show how Fox News covers stories which are important but not much seems to be done about it. They are all smiling like this event is funny and something to joke about when actually this kind of event could be deadly. The fact that the gun laws are legalised in many of the states let alone makes anyone worried as we have had more reports or death by guns in the US due to the law let alone 'stun guns' as well. This news coverage really did shock me at how inhuman these were, not worried for the people but instead are talking about how small the town in and smiling at house this is happening. The fact that in the report at the bottom it says since the video emerged the officer has not been fired or suspended no, he's been on paid leave which is totally crazy in my opinion. They laugh and find many of the things in the event unfolding funny and that's totally crazy and disrespectful.
