I found this story truly amazing but also entertaining at the same time due to the sheer stupidity of someone but also the danger of the GPS System. Around October 2015 I read a story about a women who had been shot due to being navigated to the wrong place due to the Sat Nav. Both these stories are on two different spectrums but they end up at the same conclusion that GPS systems are good but you still need to have a sense of where you are going without relying completely on the technology, try using a MAP!!!! On from this story i had just watched a documentary on BBC about Breck Bednar a 14 year old boy who was groomed online by an 18 year old boy named Lewis Daynes, this story really touched me as the boy lived around the corner from me and it is personal as it angers me to the point of boiling due to me not understand how Lewis could have in his mind for months that this boy was going to die truly sickening. This story did show however how technology is deadly in some ca...

Reggie Yates: Race Riots USA and Stacey Dooley Investigates: Saving the Cyber Sex Girls

Image
Reggie Yates: Race Riots USA In this show we were taken on a tour around the tragic event of Michael Brown and the shooting that started a large division now seen in USA between the police force and the black community. From the onset I was taken back by the event that took place and the tragedy that cause a lot of loss. We were given a tour by a black young male called Clifton who knew Michael and also new the areas and parts that were affected, we saw how the area was left after the riots caused by the release of the police officer Darren Wilson who was responsible for the killing of Brown.  The programme really opened the doors to the world they live in and what struggles they have to go through on their day to day basis, firstly by the ‘saggy trousers’ law that is stated in the short preview above, that really was ridiculous and seemed to be another reason to target the black community. The shooting was unnecessary and i don’t see how he deserved to lose his life for...

BFI Film Festival : Mediterranea

Image
For another one of our media trips we got another opportunity to got to the BFI Film Festival in Brixton, to see another film and we also got the opportunity to meet the director and writer which was truly amazing. From listening to the director you could see that the story meant a great deal to him and this was due to him living in the place where this was set and also casting people in his film that had lived there all their life, it seemed a very personal story line but also story for him.  Mediterranea is a new 2015 production and it is about two men who journey from Africa to Italy for a better life, however when you see the realisation of what many refugees have to go through you truly do see the violence and struggle that many have to go through to get a better life. Jonas Carpignano the director, released the film on the 20th November 2015 in the USA and on the opening weekend they earned $5,846. This shows that his passion was for the film and it was more about th...

From recent stories I have posted you are able to see a slight pattern occurring, this is due to each story i see shocking me and thinking how do we live in a world like this. From girls beating up an old women with no apparent cause and a  shooting occuring which takes a young boys life, this is all happening and many more in the world and country we live in and that is crazy to think about. Each being not a lot older than me or even being the same age, and to think they are either being done for a crime or not even living is horrible to see but it's the reality this world has come to know everyday. Much like the Paris shootings, one day anything to could happen could go from a calm day having a nice evening drink at a bar to having a call from the police saying that a loved one had been murdered, what really has this world come to? The truth to me is that it feels like we are all in a video game, because they things i hear about or see on the news shock me to think so...

This is a scary thought to hear, a gun crime in the UK. When many talk about gun crimes they always refer to either a war or America, but from the past days we have seen a scale of different events that have shaken the world but also shown that gun crimes are becoming for frequent. Guns however are illegal in the UK to own unless you have a permit e.g. shooting clubs, but that is what makes this so horrible the fact that we still see it and experience it in a safe so called country. Paris attacks have shown how the world can come together so why are we trying to destroy it? Overall I liked this story due to the issues it has raised but also the way it connects to every other crime that happens around the world, we have enough issues in this world soon some many never know a world without crime or guns and that's sad to wrap my head around.
